You’ve probably noticed something about the Trump administration: They’re really good at flooding the zone with bad news.
Just look at this parade of horrors:
- Redefining birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment. Because why not just rewrite the Constitution?
- Withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement and the WHO. Who needs clean air and global health, anyway?
- Making it harder to enroll in Medicaid and lower prescription drug prices. Because affordable health care is just too generous, apparently.
It’s an endless stream of awful s&#! that leaves us reeling.
That’s the point. Trump and Republicans want us to feel overwhelmed. They want us to believe that there’s too much to fight and that resistance is futile.
But here’s the thing — it’s not futile.
Trump and his administration would love nothing more than for us to throw in the towel.
