I hate getting fundraising emails

It’s the last day of the month, and I bet you’ve gotten one or two (or 30) fundraising emails that insult your intelligence. I hate most of the fundraising emails that I get, by the way.

My McConnell Story

About a year into my first Senate term, I had a run-in with Mitch McConnell. I was presiding when McConnell rose to give his remarks on Elena Kagan’s nomination to the Supreme Court.

The Senate’s immigration bill

The bipartisan group of senators that has been working for months finally released its immigration bill. It is not a bill I would have written, but our immigration system has been broken and overwhelmed for years, and this bill at least addresses the chaos we have been seeing at our southern border.

Somehow, it’s been 20 years since I started Midwest Values PAC to help Democrats win elections — from progressive organizations to state legislatures to Congress to the White House — who share the values I grew up with in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
